Wood Burner Delivery/ Drywall

Our wood burner was delivered today. The guy we purchased it from will have to come back to the home to complete the hookup once the furnace arrives. We will still have to get a back up source of propane just in case. Also while we were there the company that installs the drywall arrived. It amazing to see how fast they worked. They said they should have the drywall complete in a couple of days. The only thing that we will have to drywall later on is the basement and the mudroom.

Tentive completion date

I spoke with Kasey our field manager today about the trim on the bottom of the front window. I explaioned that it looked as though it was not complete. He said that he would look at it the next time he was there He also told me that he plugged the sump pump while he was there since the electric was all hooked up to the home! I asked about a completion date and he is thinking end of September towards the 1st week of October! That is exciting! The porter potty arrived today nothing real exciting. He also informed me  the next thing that would take place would be the drywall so no one would be there for a couple of days. I also went  to the basement since I have not been down there lately and saw the pump for the well was installed.

Raigan starts school/ Drywall delivered

Raigan
I wanted to share this picture. Raigan's first day of kindergarten was today! She is growing so fast. She liked recess time and also the library but she loved to ride the bus the most she tells me.

The well was also installed today so we now have water! Danny came after work and cover the trench to the home. The drywall was also delivered today and they will start on the drywall on Saturday. Also today the problem with the basement stairs was finally handled. Emily from the bank called and asked if it was ok to release the money to Wayne Homes. I told her about the problem with the stairs. She informed me that she would not release the money until we received a phone call . They finally called Andy back and they gave us a credit for the garage windows.

Well installed today/ Covering the trench back

Look at all the progress

front door

I think its cute when I pick up the girls from the babysitters and they always say"let's go see the house in the woods". It has been a habit when I pick them up we go check out the progress.Looks like all the framing is finish. Roof and tar paper is also down. We should have shingles soon. The company that will be doing the electrical work  in the home also called to set up a time to come out. They will be calling back tomorrow to see if we can work something out since they want to start on Thursday and we will have to see what our work schedules look like.

Making progress

Wow they worked fast! This was all done just today. They are hoping to finish the framing by Monday.

On the bright side I think the problems have been fix they gave us a credit for the missing window in the basement and we also added 2 windows to the side of the garage and moved the door to the back. There is also nothing they can do about the stairs being narrow so Andy is going to be talking more to them tomorrow. The guy that is installing the wood burner also said that he would work with the hole we already have in the foundation. Can't wait to go back tomorrow.

Backfilling/Wood Delivery and stress!

Yesterday when i went out not too much had changed the basement was waterproofed.  I was able to run to Menard's and purchased the bathroom and kitchen faucets.

After the past two days contemplating on which faucets I should purchase for the tub/shower I finally made up my mind and stopped after work to purchase those. On my way home I went to check to see if anything had changed. It is really exciting to see the progress that is being made. One problem that we knew from the get go was the home had to be raised because of the water that lays back in the woods and because of this our drive way has a large slope coming out of the garage. My concern is in the winter time we will slip right out. Hopefully we can make it a little more even with the rest of the drive way.Andy also called me on his way home and is upset about them only putting one window in the basement which there was suppose to be two so I will be calling them to discuss this tomorrow. Also he is concerned about the stairs being narrow and we also want to see if we can add a window to the garage. I also guess the hole was also too big that they drilled into the foundation for the wood stove. Let the stress of building begin!

As we were leaving today the wood was being delivered to start framing hopefully tomorrow so I turned back around to get some pictures.
